We created Salon Five Twelve with you in mind. Our vision was simple: to build a salon that people looked forward to visiting not just because it's beautiful, but because of how they feel when they’re here. Seen. Cared for. Confident.

When we asked our team why they became hairdressers, their answers said it all:
“I wanted to make people feel more beautiful and confident.”
“I wanted to make a difference in the lives around me.”
“I want to build relationships and build people up.”

This is our why.
We opened our doors to create a space where guests come to relax, recharge, and leave feeling beautiful. But we also created this space for our team a place where they’re proud to work, where work-life balance is valued, and where they can continue falling in love with their craft.

our story

In 2002, Berni opened the doors to Berni Inc., a one-chair salon in the heart of downtown Cumming, GA. Her vision was simple yet powerful: to offer a high-end salon experience with a homey, welcoming feel. Founded on passion and a deep love for the beauty industry, Berni Inc. grew over 20 incredible years serving thousands of guests and expanding into a 7-chair salon that helped nurture the careers of many stylists along the way.

In 2012, Berni’s daughter, Jacque, joined the team and eventually became co-owner. This mother-daughter duo shares not only a love for their work behind the chair, but also a dedication to mentoring their team and giving back to the community that has supported them for decades.

By 2023, they had outgrown their beloved Berni Inc. space and so, Salon Five Twelve was born.

Salon Five Twelve was created to be more than a salon. It’s a space where comfort, calm, and confidence meet. Every guest who walks through our doors is welcomed into a warm and peaceful environment, and every service is designed to feel like a five-star experience.

We believe in the power of teamwork. While one stylist can create a great visit, it takes a team to create a memorable, elevated experience. That’s why we invest deeply in education, collaboration, and culture empowering our staff to grow both technically and personally.

Most of all, we love what we do because of you our guests. Building relationships, making people feel beautiful, valued, and confident… that’s the heart of Salon Five Twelve.

Salon Five Twelve is a 1940 house located blocks away from downtown Cumming.
We fell in love with the history and charm that this house had when you walked through its doors. We saw the salon filled with laughter, conversations, beautiful people and beautiful hair. One and half years of hard work, this house has been transformed into a salon. All new electrical, new paint and flooring. Walls added and removed, bathrooms and kitchen gutted and updated. Fireplace with new tile, popcorn ceilings and florescent lighting removed.

    To have a team balanced salon, touching peoples lives in a beautiful way.

    We’re a salon that is more than hair. We’ve created a place where guest want to come too, because it's an unlike any salon experience before. It is an experience they will remember and look forward to coming back.

    We stay up to date on the newest techniques, learning from the best hairdressers. We will continue to be a salon who prides themselves in education. Most of all, we want to make a difference in the lives around us, and give back to the community.

    We wanted to be a laid back luxury salon, where guest looked forward to come into the salon. We visioned this space with filled with so much happiness, growth and success. We want to be a salon that grows with our stylist during any season of their life while having work-life balance along the way.
